Description

Kurgo Enhanced Strength Car Harness

The Enhanced Strength Kurgo Dog Car Harness is the ultimate safety harness for your dog while travelling in the car. Designed specifically as a safety harness it features technology based on rock climbing and linesman harnesses. Adjustment points means you can achieve the perfect fit for your buddy, distributing the pressure across the whole body so it’s comfortable and safe in the case of a crash.

If you are looking for a multi-function, strong, comfortable and easy to use car harness for your dog, this is the one!

Protects dogs & drivers – Having your dog restrained within your vehicle, safely buckled keeps both, driver and dog safe.

Multi-functional with No Pull Front Ring – Use the Kurgo Enhanced Strength Tru-Fit Smart Harness as a car harness or walking harness. By attaching your lead to the front ring on the harness, you can reduce your dog’s pulling.

Easy to Use – The Kurgo Enhanced Strength Tru-Fit Smart Harness is quick and easy to put on. Simply, slip it over your dog’s head and then clip it around the midsection. Can be safely used with any vehicle seat belt using the included seat-belt loop.

Highly Adjustable – Five adjustment points for a perfect fit on all dogs of all shapes and sizes.

Innovative All-Steel Buckles – The Kurgo all-steel Nesting Buckle system is based on the time-tested harnesses of rock climbers and linesmen. The Nesting Buckles take a minute to learn, but are very easy to use.

Unlike the regular Kurgo Tru-Fit, this is the “enhanced strength” version. This means the buckles have been replaced with stronger all-steel nesting versions (these are similar to those used for rock climbing). There are also five adjustment points, so you can get a snug and safe fit without over-tightening.

The harness attaches to the car seat belt via a strong metal carabiner. Kurgo recommends using the carabiner to attach it directly to the seat belt, although for more freedom a longer tether is included.

One of the great things about the Tru-Fit is that it makes an excellent walking harness and everyday harness. The padded chest section is also great if your dog pulls, as it prevents chafing or choking.

How to Size & Fit the Enhanced Strength Tru-Fit Dog Car Harness

3 Steps to Buckle Up Your Dog in the Car

Did you know there is a correct way to buckle up your dog in the car? The first step is purchasing a crash tested harness, but the second step is understanding how to correctly strap your dog in for a roadtrip, using the harness.

So what exactly is a crash tested harness? The Kurgo Enhanced Strength Tru-Fit Dog Car Harness was tested at an established University testing facility using the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard for child restraint systems. This was tested for dogs up to 75 pounds and simulated using weighted dog toys, for realistic testing, and proved successful.

To learn how to use the Enhanced Strength Tru-Fit Dog Car Harness and buckle your dog up successfully, follow the directions and visual demonstrations below.

STEP 1

To find the harness size that works best for your dog, use the size chart and helpful harness sizing video as shown above. When you have the right size for your dog, adjust the harness to fit. The Enhanced Strength Harness has multiple adjustment points to create the perfect, comfortable fit for your pup. It also functions well as a walking harness, so get your dog used to it by first taking your dog on walks, before testing it in the car.

The crash tested harness comes with 3 pieces – the harness itself, a carabiner clip, and a nylon loop tether. The harness and carabiner are used to safely secure your dog in a vehicle, while the nylon loop tether can be used for other training and restraining purposes. The carabiner clip is the most important piece when attaching your dog’s harness to the car’s seat belt. Take the carabiner and attach it to both the waist and shoulder straps of the seat belt, as shown in the picture. Now, buckle the seat belt.

Once the carabiner is connected to both the shoulder and waist strap of the seat belt, attach the carabiner through the top layer of webbing on the back strap on the harness. Never attach the carabiner to the leash attachment. The metal ring is for using the harness with a leash only – it is not strong enough to hold during a crash.

After following these 3 easy steps, your dog is now safely secured into the car and you are ready to go!

Caution: In the event of a car accident it may not prevent injury to the passengers or your pet. Inspect products for wear or abrasion before each use. Do not use if damaged.
